These two beautiful macaws are a bonded pair looking for a home together. Troy, a Blue and Gold Macaw, and JJ, a Green Wing Macaw, came to us at the end of January when their previous owner was no longer able to care for them due to health reasons. They have clearly shared a life together and rely on one another, so it’s important that they stay side by side in their next chapter.
Troy is full of personality and has quite the vocabulary, often greeting you with phrases like “good morning,” “hello,” or even “take me out.” He loves his fruit, especially bananas, apples, and berries, and isn’t shy about letting you know how he feels—especially when other birds are flying or when JJ is getting attention. While they are bonded, Troy prefers his own space when out, enjoying time on a separate tree stand where he can still keep an eye on everything going on around him.
JJ, on the other hand, is always ready to go. She’s usually the first one out of the cage and eager to hop onto a tree stand while you’re cleaning. She’s playful, curious, and full of life, with a love for singing and dancing that makes her impossible not to smile at. She shares Troy’s love for fruit and has a few phrases of her own, often chatting and engaging with those around her. She does have a bit of a mischievous side and enjoys chewing on plastic bowls, so appropriate enrichment will be important for her.
Together, they make a lively and entertaining pair. They enjoy dancing, sharing space in their aviary, and being part of the action, while still having their own individual preferences and personalities. They will do best in a home that understands macaws, can provide structure, enrichment, and the ability to give them both attention while respecting their dynamic.
