Eclectus Birds Available for Adoption

This bright green parrot who could easily audition for a role with the Muppets is Ozzy the eclectus! Ozzy is a very polite, communicative young man with a beautiful, fully-feathered green shine!

While he can be a little bit cage defensive when you first come over, he'll readily step up once out of his cage and enjoys hanging out on his playstand. Ozzy is incredibly hand tame and wants to be with you all day long! Trying to offer a delicious snack? Oh no, Ozzy would prefer to hold your hand instead (read: you hold him!).

While he'd spend all day with you if he could, please no head scratches at this time-- Ozzy prefers to keep his feathers neat and tidy. Ozzy will tolerate a mist bath sprayed over his feathers, though it's needed to keep him looking his best! Ozzy is a bit shy when it comes to his vocalizations other than a typical eclectus call, and prefers to wait for an empty room to begin practicing his sounds. He will flock call out a few times per day, which can get a bit loud, but this is usually a short outburst before he resumes his quiet time.

As an eclectus, Ozzy has particular diet requirements such as chop made of fresh vegetables, some fruit, and a small bit of cooked whole grains mixed in, though he does have pellets in his cage for additional supplement. This beautiful green potato is fully flighted, though he prefers to pick a specific destination before he takes off! As far as toys go, Ozzy isn't particularly interested in them just yet, but his dedicated foster mom is working on figuring out just what will tickle his fancy! His favorite activities are being with you or sitting on a playstand to enjoy your company.

For Ozzy, human company is most preferred, and while he is okay being around other birds, he wants them to respect his personal space and will leave the party early if they don't! While eclectus calls can get pretty loud, Ozzy may be okay in a space with shared walls if he's allowed ample out of cage time, as he is quietest when sitting out of his cage with you--if more cage time would be required, a home without shared walls would definitely be best!
