We appreciate your interest, but as a local Long Island organization, we cannot orchestrate long distance or out-of-NY State adoptions. We can only handle placements in the Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Staten Island, NYC, lower Westchester and lower Rockland County areas.

Tell us if your bird has any behavior issues? Lenny is aggressive towards anyone besides myself. Protective of his cage. Was originally friendly with anyone who would hold him. He now only slightly tolerates my husband but allows me to hold and pet him.
Why are you needing to rehome your bird? Had a baby in 2025, Lenny is no longer getting the attention he is used to which has caused more behavioral problems.
Provide us with any additional information that may help a candidate show interest in your bird. Lenny is a silly bird. He will roll over in his cage for treats, loves to take a bath in the kitchen sink, will get very loud when he hears me do dishes because he wants to play in the water. He LOVES to fly, when I first got him his wings were freshly clipped and he seemed very sad, trying to fly around his cage and unable to. When he is out of his cage he will fly to me no matter what room I am in.
