Bestie: Tiny Dog, Huge Personality
At just 7.4 pounds, Bestie may be tiny, but her personality is absolutely enormous. This 10–12 month old Yorkie-type mix is playful, affectionate, hilarious, and deeply devoted to her people. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be included in everything at all times and somehow manages to make everyday life infinitely more entertaining just by existing.
Whether she’s proudly carrying stolen socks around the house, climbing impossible heights to join the group, or curling up in your arms for a nap, Bestie brings nonstop charm everywhere she goes.
Bestie is the ultimate velcro dog. She loves following her favorite people from room to room and prefers being near humans as much as possible. She’s happiest when she feels included in whatever is happening around her, whether that’s relaxing in the living room, tagging along during chores, or supervising from the couch.
She’s incredibly interactive and expressive in funny little ways. Sometimes she’ll gently paw for attention or playfully “wrestle” by rubbing her tiny body alongside you. She adores belly rubs, pets, cuddling, and being doted on. Once comfortable, she’ll happily curl up in your arms and fall asleep there like she’s been doing it forever.
Equal Parts Lounger and Zoomie Queen
Bestie has a surprisingly balanced personality for such a young dog. During the day, she spends a lot of time lounging and napping near her people, periodically waking up to request affection before returning to her regularly scheduled relaxation.
But she also has bursts of hilarious puppy energy. She gets random zoomies throughout the day and especially in the evenings, tearing around the house with excitement before crashing again shortly afterward. She loves toys and plays with pretty much all of them equally, always ready for a quick game if someone is willing to join in.
She doesn’t need excessive exercise, but she absolutely enjoys walks, playtime, and interactive attention from her humans.
Tiny Explorer, Excellent Travel Companion
Bestie enjoys walks and can actually go fairly long distances as long as the pace stays relaxed. She’s more of a slow, curious stroller than a power walker and likes stopping frequently to look around and take everything in. She doesn’t pull on leash and is very easy to manage due to both her calm demeanor and tiny size.
One especially impressive thing about her is how wonderfully she rides in the car. On a recent trip to San Francisco, she calmly relaxed and slept quietly for most of the drive, making her an ideal little companion for outings and errands.
She’s also remarkably quiet overall. In fact, her foster family says they’ve barely heard her bark at all, even in situations where many dogs would become noisy or reactive.
Learning Fast and Trying Her Best
She already knows “sit” and is currently learning “down” and “paw.” She sleeps in a pen at night and, while she’d definitely prefer sleeping closer to her people, she settles down nicely and continues improving with the routine.
She’s also wonderfully non-destructive overall. Aside from occasionally attempting to chew on a wicker basket, she doesn’t really chew, dig, or get into trouble.
A Social Little Dog With a Sensitive Side
Bestie seems to prefer humans over dogs overall, though she’s curious about other dogs and wants to interact. She can be a little nervous around larger or very energetic dogs, especially if they approach too quickly, but she has done well with smaller dogs and showed interest in playing once she felt safe.
She has also interacted gently and comfortably with children in public and does not bark or react to squirrels, birds, or passing people during walks.
Why Everyone Falls in Love With Bestie
There’s something endlessly entertaining about Bestie. Maybe it’s the way she steals socks and proudly parades around with them like prized possessions. Maybe it’s her determination to climb onto furniture that looks impossibly tall for such a tiny dog. Or maybe it’s how deeply she wants to be part of every single moment happening around her.
She’s playful without being overwhelming, cuddly without being needy, and tiny enough to fit practically anywhere — including directly in your lap whenever possible.
Bestie may only weigh 7.4 pounds, but she brings an absolutely giant amount of love, personality, and joy into a home.
