Float was found as a stray and spent 125 days in a North Carolina shelter, most of it on concrete floors that left pressure sores on his elbows. When the shelter lost funding and faced closure, we got him out just before his fate was sealed.
His first vet visit brought a few surprises: Float is partially blind, has arthritis in his back legs, and is likely 78 years old not the 3 years the shelter had estimated. Knowing that made his long stay there even more heartbreaking.
But none of it has dimmed his disposition. Float is friendly and easygoing with strangers, children, dogs, and cats. He loves playing with other dogs and going on long sniffaris. In new spaces he may bump into a corner or two, but he maps out his surroundings quickly and gets around the home with ease.
Float is fostered in Abington, MA, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet him. To get the adoption process started, please send us an application at https://bit.ly/rosr-adopt-foster.
