Chateau: A Tiny Princess With a Big Love for Cuddles

Chateau is a 1 year old, 11 lb Tibetan Spaniel with soft eyes, an even softer personality, and a serious talent for cozy living. Surrendered to the shelter alongside her buddy Mansion when their owner could no longer care for them, Chateau is now looking for a calm, loving home where she can continue blossoming into the affectionate little companion she was meant to be.

If your ideal day includes sleeping in, lounging on the couch, and having a tiny dog curled up in your lap at all times, Chateau may be your soulmate.

Professional Sleeper, Expert Snuggler

Chateau fully believes mornings are optional. Most days, she happily sleeps in until somewhere between 10:30 and 11:30 AM before slowly beginning her day. She enjoys two meals daily, grazing on breakfast and dinner throughout the day at her own pace.

While her foster takes her on several walks each day, Chateau’s true passion is cuddling. She would much rather be snuggled up in bed or curled beside her favorite human than participating in any high-energy adventure. At night, she sleeps in bed with her people and makes it very clear that close physical contact is one of her favorite things in the world.

She’s affectionate, clingy in the sweetest way, and happiest when she’s near her person. Chateau will happily follow her foster from room to room just to stay close and keep them company.

Shy at First, Silly Once She Trusts You

When Chateau first arrived, she was very shy and unsure in her new environment. But once she realized she was safe, her adorable personality started to emerge. She has a goofy, silly side that comes out around people she trusts, and she becomes incredibly loving and attached once she bonds.

She does take a little time warming up to new people, especially men. Chateau tends to feel more comfortable with women initially and can be a bit cautious or nervous around men until she gets to know them. Because of this, she’ll do best with adopters who understand that trust-building is part of the process and are willing to let her settle in at her own pace.

Once she feels safe, though, she becomes an absolute velcro dog who wants to be in your lap, beside you, or gently following you around the house all day long.

A Lovably Chaotic Walking Companion

Chateau enjoys going outside, though she approaches walks with her own unique style. She doesn’t pull on leash, but she does wander in every possible direction, occasionally turning around unexpectedly, bumping into her humans, or randomly deciding she’s done walking altogether and lying down mid-walk. Her foster describes walking her as both funny and unpredictable.

She’s more of a leisurely stroller than an athletic hiking buddy, and honestly, she’d probably choose cuddle time over cardio every single time.

Home Life and Training

Chateau is very mild-mannered overall. She’s not especially interested in toys and prefers lounging, cuddling, and hanging out with her people instead.

She occasionally chews when bored and sometimes gives very gentle play-bites, but overall she’s a quiet, low-key little dog. She may bark occasionally when left alone or if someone passes by the house while she’s by herself, but she’s not a frequent barker.

Why Everyone Falls for Chateau

There’s something extra special about earning the trust of a shyer dog, and Chateau makes that reward feel enormous. Once she chooses you as her person, she gives you her whole heart. She wants to nap beside you, cuddle in your lap, sleep in your bed, and quietly follow you through everyday life.

She’s sweet, silly, gentle, and impossibly cuddly — the kind of dog who turns ordinary evenings on the couch into the best part of your day.
