🐾💙Looking for a hospice foster or forever home. 🐾💙
Sweet Moses - a 10 year old, 59 lb terrier mix needs a loving place to live out his last year or two of life.
He recently had melanoma removed and he has deep masses on his belly. These masses are most likely more melanoma . Because he arrived to the shelter with advanced heartworms, further surgery isn't safe. His cancer is not a fast-growing cancer and it is estimated that he has 1 to 2 years remaining on this earth.
We are treating his heartworms with the "slow kill" method - through preventatives.
Moses is the sweetest of all sweet creatures. He loves his one on one time with Miss Doris. He would cuddle with her 24 hours a day if he could!
He loves a good walk and laying in the sun. A yummy treat, a soft stroke on his face and soothing words from staff members and volunteers. The simple things in life bring him the greatest pleasures.
He arrived to the shelter with another dog that had been his companion for most of his life and Dakota got adopted quite quickly.
Moses lost his home, his family, and his canine companion all at the snap of a finger. And on top of that, he is terminally ill.
He deserves a quiet place to call home, a warm bed, soft voices reminding him he is loved.
Moses does well with other dogs at the shelter.
He doesn't soil in his kennel, so would quickly acclimate to being house trained.
Please reach out to the Waverly Animal Shelter during shelter hours if you would like to meet this wonderful fellow.
