Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Butterfly is an adorable 4-month old female Terrier mix puppy who was brought to the HSOV on April 28, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found her on State Route 555 in the Cutler Ohio area. Butterfly was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped.

This little sweetheart has a brown/brindle coat, a long tail, and a beautiful puppy face with hopeful trusting eyes, a brown velvet nose, and extra-large semi-erect ears.

Butterfly has a happy, outgoing personality and loves attention more than anything else in the world. She is good with other dogs and also with cats .. And Butterfly would likely be ok with older children. Butterfly exhibits normal puppy behavior and is very much in the 'chewing stage' of her life.

Butterfly weighed 19.6 lbs when she entered our shelter on April 28th. She did fine in a large floor crate in our managers' office (and enjoyed continuous attention).

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Butterfly was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Surprisingly, nobody called or came looking for this precious young lady.

Since she was not reclaimed, Butterfly went home with a wonderful foster family on April 30th so that she could enjoy being in a real home environment 24/7 while she awaits her forever home. Butterfly will be spayed before being adopted by her new family, but she could be fostered-to-adopt while she is awaiting her spay procedure with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
