Meet Keali! Female | Small-Medium Terrier Mix 17 lbs, DOB: 5/23/24
Keali is a sweet, loving, snuggly little girl who is ready to find a family of her own! She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, walks nicely on a leash, and is crate trained. Whether she's cuddling on the couch or joining you for an adventure, Keali is happiest when she's with her people.
Keali was incredibly lucky to come into our care when she did. During her spay surgery, it was discovered that she had pyometra, a serious and potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus. Pyometra occurs when bacteria enter the uterus and cause it to fill with infection. Without treatment, it can lead to sepsis, organ failure, and death.
Thankfully, because Keali was spayed, the infected uterus was removed before the condition became fatal. Her story is a powerful reminder of why spaying is so important. Spaying not only prevents unwanted litters but also eliminates the risk of pyometra and greatly reduces the risk of certain cancers and other reproductive diseases.
Today, Keali is healthy, happy, and looking forward to her future!
Keali is currently living in a foster home and would love to meet her forever family. Could that be you? Keali's rescue story is a wonderful example of how spaying can truly save lives!
