Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption in Des Moines, Iowa

- Full of energy and loves to play, although he can be a little timid at first

- Loves to have his head scratched and will come running when you call his name

- Has gotten a good start on potty training in his foster home

- Has done well with the dogs and cats in his foster home

- We don't know his history with children

- Tested heartworm positive when he arrived and has received both rounds of treatments here at the ARL; will need a free recheck at the ARL in a few months to make sure he's in the clear and will need to be kept fairly calm until treatment is complete (more info at ARL)

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
