Benson is a 7 month old Sheltie who has come from a loving home but had to be given up as there were way too many dogs in the home that officials had to step in. Benson is very unsure of life right now since everything he knew is gone. He seems to have no experience of being anywhere but in his home or backyard. Because of this, he is a very quiet boy, very reserved. Easily overwhelmed but he does trust humans to do right by him.

Benson gets along quietly with the other dogs in the home. He sleeps quietly in a pen overnight and right now prefers the comfort of his pen or being under the table. He will also lay happily lay by your feet if you have a leash on him to keep him in your vicinity. This is what we are doing with Benson as we want to see him move outward into the home environment. He will also lay with you on the couch if you pick him up and will settle in and fall asleep as he does trust.

Benson likes going for walks around the property. That seems to give him a lot of happiness. Benson appears to be potty trained as there has not been any accidents but again - he is either in his "safe" spots or on a leash next to us. His pen is dry overnight.

Benson will do well in a home that is willing to give him time to acclimate. He is a gentle boy. He is a sad boy right now but watches and is interested in the happenings of the home. He is not a shut down dog at all. Benson will be neutered in the next few days and then will be ready for his forever home. He has a very bright future with a typical pup life ahead of him. He just needs a home base to launch from.
