Meet Rusty. If you're looking for a sweet, well-mannered, young pup, you need look no further. Rusty is the dog for you. Rusty is a 9 month old, 30 pound, Shetland Sheepdog who came to Logan's as an owner surrender. His owner just didn't have the time to care for Rusty and give him a full and happy life.
Upon first meeting him, Rusty can be somewhat timid and shy but with a little patience and a lot of love, he will warm up to you in no time.
Rusty is not a fan of leash walking; although in time, he may come to enjoy it. He is still unsure of the outside world and is frightened of loud noises, traffic and new things, in general. Each day, however, he has grown in confidence and will, I'm sure, become more comfortable with his surroundings as he grows and matures. A fenced in yard where he can run and play would be just fine with him. His former owner reports that he is fine with cats and kids. A recent sleepover with Bianca, another foster, shows that he is also good around another dog.
Rusty behaves perfectly in his crate and is completely housebroken. His house manners are impeccable.
Finally, Rusty loves to sit on your lap and to lean into you for some hugs. Snuggling is his speciality. Rusty is now neutered, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $550.00.
