Sweet and resilient Felipe Felipe entered Chula Vista Animal Shelter as a stray and then spent over 420 days there waiting for someone to give him a chance. Fortunately, this March, a wonderful foster opened her heart and home to Felipe. Despite spending so much time in a shelter environment, he settled right into his foster home and showed how easy he is to care for and what a joy he is to have around.

Felipe is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 77 lbs. According to his foster mom, his special qualities include

Calm, well-mannered, and fully house trained
Can comfortably hold his potty for 4+ hours and does not mark indoors
No separation anxiety - happily naps on the couch while home alone
Walks beautifully on leash and enjoys neighborhood strolls, beach walks, and hikes
Non-reactive around other dogs and can thrive as either a solo dog or with canine companions
Food motivated and eager to please - knows "sit," "stay," "gentle," and waits patiently at doors and for meals
Gentle, affectionate, and loves attention from people
Playful yet mellow with an easygoing "go with the flow" personality

Felipe enjoys life's simple pleasures: sunbathing, people watching, nature walks, lounging on the couch, and accompanying his person on everyday adventures. Whether it's a scenic hike in Mt. Laguna, a walk along Mission Bay, or a quiet evening binge-watching TV, Felipe is happiest simply being nearby.
