This 5yearold male Shepherd mix was found as a stray in a condition no living creature should ever endure. Severely emaciated, every rib and vertebra visible. Dehydrated, weak, and collapsing. Anemic, his body drained by the relentless assault of fleas, ticks, and internal parasites. He was so close to death that rescuers had to look twice to be sure he was still breathing. And yet... when they reached for him, Gabriel lifted his head. When they spoke softly, he wagged his tail. When they touched him gently, he leaned in. Even after everything, this boy chose love. Gabriel is now receiving urgent, comprehensive medical care — fluids, nutrition, parasite treatment, and the slow, careful rebuilding of a body that has been starved for far too long. He is safe. He is warm. He is finally being cared for the way he always deserved. And through it all, he remains sweet, gentle, and grateful. He is good with people, good with other dogs, and astonishingly tender for a dog who has known so much suffering. Gabriel is the kind of soul who will look at you like you hung the moon, even though the world has failed him again and again.
