Rogue, 4 months old, spayed female, Shepherd mix, currently 18 pounds and expected to be medium size when full grown. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS And able to transport once matched to an adopter.

This girl was found tied to someone's apartment door :( We really have no idea what she's mixed with as she's fairly small for a Shepherd.

Rogue is everything you’d expect from a young pup and more: high-energy, endlessly playful, and full of personality. She’s the kind of dog who throws her whole heart into life—whether she’s bouncing around with a canine friend or crashing hard for snuggles after a big day of fun.

Play Style & Social Life
Rogue is a social butterfly with other dogs and loves to engage in high-energy play. She’s bouncy, enthusiastic, and always ready for a game. Because she’s still learning her manners, she may get a little overexcited and needs guidance recognizing when another dog is ready to take a break. She’s done well with medium to large dogs and shows no signs of reactivity—just lots of happy tail wags and eagerness to make friends. On leash, she’s curious and excited, sometimes pulling to say hello.

Personality
Outgoing, curious, playful, and oh-so-silly, Rogue has that classic goofy puppy charm. She’s smart and eager to learn, loves toys, and is always ready for her next adventure. Once she’s gotten her energy out, she turns into a total sweetheart who enjoys cuddling and being close to her people. She’s friendly with strangers and may greet them with enthusiastic puppy energy.

Training & Behavior
Rogue is still very much in her puppy phase, which means she’s learning the ropes:

House training is in progress
Crate trained but still building comfort with longer durations
Walks are a work in progress—she’s excited and curious, not reactive
Would benefit from basic obedience training and continued structure

Home Needs
Rogue is looking for an active home that’s ready to embrace puppy life. She’ll thrive with regular exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. A yard or access to outdoor activities would be ideal. While she’d likely enjoy a playful dog companion, it’s not a requirement.

Because of her energy level, she’d do best in a home with older children (10+) or a dog-savvy household that understands puppy behavior.

The Bottom Line
Rogue is a loving, energetic pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s looking for someone patient and committed to helping her grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. With structure, consistency, and lots of love, Rogue is going to make an incredibly fun, loyal, and affectionate companion.

If you’re ready for a playful sidekick who will keep you laughing and shower you with love, Rogue might just be your perfect match.

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
