Shelby - Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Horn Lake, Mississippi

Meet Shelby: Shelby is about a 1 year old (as of June 2026) petite shepherd mix that weighs about 35 pounds. Shelby was a stray in Memphis and wound up at the animal facility there. She didn't do well there at all. She was terrified to an extraordinary extent. The director there moved her into her office which was away from most of the other noise typical of a large facility and she began to calm. The shelter reached out to our rescue knowing she needed an environment that was not the shelter and we were able to pick her up. Shelby is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Shelby is much happier in a home as opposed to the scary shelter! Shelby fit into her foster home like one of the long term residents. Shelby is a very good dog. Shelby is very playful and very affectionate. Shelby gets along well with the other dogs and walks pretty well on a leash. Shelby is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need patience while learning a new process. We would love for Shelby to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. Shelby is up to date on her shots and spayed.
