Meet Balanze

Balanze is a 2‑year‑old shepherd mix mama, weighing approximately 48 lbs, who has been nothing short of amazing. She and her puppies were surrendered to ACCT Philly when their owner became overwhelmed with too many animals, and through it all, Balanze stayed devoted to her babies.

In her previous home, Balanze lived peacefully with kids and other dogs, showing that she already knows how to be part of a family. When she first arrived at ACCT Philly and then into our care, she was understandably unsure and on the defensive — so many changes in such a short time for her and her little family. Despite her own uncertainty, she was a wonderful, attentive mother who took excellent care of her puppies every step of the way.

Now that her babies are ready to find homes of their own, Balanze has finally been able to relax and let her true personality shine. She’s a much happier, more at‑ease girl who clearly adores her volunteers and enjoys the love and attention she receives. Sweet, gentle, and deserving of some well‑earned pampering, Balanze is ready for a fresh start.

She cannot wait to find a family of her very own — one where she can be cherished not just as a mama, but simply as Balanze.

She will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested.

She would need to meet any resident dogs.
