Foster Insight/backstory :
Mister Woody’s story is heartbreak, resilience… and finally, hope.
For a month, he wandered busy streets alone—dodging traffic, just trying to survive. When his family was found, it should’ve been his ending. Instead, they gave him up. Mister Woody had already been in and out of a Texas shelter multiple times for escaping, never knowing true safety.
Then everything changed.
Mister Woody chose a home to stop at—and that moment saved his life. A kind woman reached out, and our Texas team stepped in. He began heartworm treatment, got the care he desperately needed, and experienced life inside a home for the very first time—soft beds, gentle hands, real love.
And Mister Woody blossomed.
Now he’s happy, healing, and thriving. He gives the best hugs, greets everyone with a wagging nub, loves kids, does great with other dogs, and is even good with cats.
Mister Woody’s is the perfect companion for someone who loves the outdoors - whether it's hiking, running, camping or exploring, he's ready to be right by your side for it all
Mister Woody’s past didn’t break him—it made his joy that much brighter.
He never gave up… he was just waiting for someone who wouldn’t give up on him.
