Meet
Quincy
, a 1-year-old Retriever mix who’s truly a diamond in the rough, just waiting for the right person to help him shine! This absolutely adorable, fun-size pup sports a short caramel brown coat, deep chocolate eyes, and the cutest little black nose with a tiny white spot on the tip. Quincy may come off as a bit tough or intimidating in his kennel, especially with strangers - but don’t let that fool you. Once he gets to know you and starts to feel safe, he eagerly seeks affection, leaning in close and even placing his paws in your lap for love and attention. He’s incredibly gentle (even with treats!) and clearly longs to bond deeply with his person. Quincy would do best as the only pet in a patient, pet-savvy home willing to give him time, trust-building, and a few meet-and-greet visits to set everyone up for success.
-1 year 1 month of tan Retriever mix
-40 pound neutered male
-may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before he can go home with you, but the shelter can likely help with this!
-came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 4/11/26 as a stray
-once he knows someone, he will eagerly come to the front of the cage and seek all the loving, and once out of the kennel and out and about with you, he shows off his very lovable and affectionate side
-due to his nervous demeanor, which unfairly makes him come across as a tough guy, he would benefit from being the only pet in the home, with a pet savvy person or family willing to be patient and work on trust building
-if you have the time for it, Quincy could really benefit from a few meet and greet sessions at the shelter before you take him home, so he can get to know you and learn to trust a bit more, which would give you both a strong foundation for continued success at home!
