Jane came to the rescue through PugHearts of Houston. She came in heartworm positive and has been getting proper veterinary care since.
Jane is a total shadow dog. If you move, she moves. If you sit, she's already there, ready to climb into your lap. She thrives on human attention and wants to be part of everything. She's very friendly, great on a leash, and highly food motivated, which makes her easy to work with and fun to have around.
She is mostly house trained but can have occasional accidents, so a consistent routine will help her stay on track. She can also be a little vocal, especially when she's excited or when food is involved, so she is not a good fit for apartment living.
Jane would do best with someone who is home often and wants a very people oriented dog. She can live with other dogs her size, but slow introductions are best. She is deeply loyal, very affectionate, and will stick close to her person every chance she gets.

This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian.
