Xena is a seven-year-old tan and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix with warm amber eyes, a broad, beautiful face, and a calm, gentle presence that is impossible not to notice. She arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on May 26th, and how a dog this sweet and this lovely ended up without a home is simply heartbreaking. She spends her days quietly on her Kuranda bed, never making a sound - a dignified, patient girl waiting for someone to see her for the treasure she is.

Xena knows sit and stay, walks beautifully on a leash, and is completely quiet in her kennel. She is the kind of dog who asks for very little and gives back everything. At 75 lbs she is a big, beautiful girl with a soft, easygoing nature that makes her an absolute pleasure to be around. There is a steadiness to Xena that only comes with age and experience - a settled, grateful quality that makes senior dogs so profoundly rewarding to love.
