If silly and athletic are two of your favorite qualities in a companion, look no further because Mateo is your guy! Mateo was rescued from the streets after an attack a few years ago. Sadly, the word "years" means that he has become the shelter's second-longest resident. The good news? Mateo is more than ready to leave the past behind and find his loving forever home.

Mateo is full of energy and loves to play! His absolute favorite activity is fetch, especially with his beloved rubber ball, and he can run impressive distances. He would be a perfect match for someone who enjoys hiking, staying active, or playing sports like football or baseball. Mateo's playful personality shines through in his silly antics, whether he's rolling around on his back, wiggling with excitement, or greeting you with enthusiastic face and ear kisses. When the weather turns cold, Mateo also shows his cuddly side and loves to snuggle up close.

Mateo is not fond of cats or other dogs, likely due to his experiences surviving on the streets. He would do best as the only pet in the home. Our rescue team is happy to answer any questions and help ensure a successful transition for Mateo and his future family.
