Pit Bull Terrier

DESCRIPTION

Indigo (A562563) has only been with us a little over a week, but she has already built a fan club. She arrived as a stray with an eye injury that looked uncomfortable and concerning. Even with that, she still met staff with gentle tail wags and a soft patience that made it clear she wanted nothing more than to feel safe again. Her eye is already healing on its own, and she has not let it slow down her spirits one bit. Indigo is one of those dogs who carries her joy right on the surface. She greets every new person like she has been waiting all day to see them. She sits politely for treats, offers the sweetest leaning hugs, and then without warning will roll right onto her back and wiggle around like she is scratching the itch of a lifetime. It is impossible not to smile when she does it. She loves spending time with people, but she also enjoys letting loose in our play yards. She will romp, explore, chase a ball with enthusiasm and then proudly forget that returning the ball is part of the game. Her heart is always in the right place, even if the fetch rules are still a mystery to her. In the quieter moments, Indigo is tender, affectionate and surprisingly calm for a 3 year old. We know she would make a great companion for some lucky family! Indigo is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative. Ready to meet Indigo? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID.
