Meet Tank 🐾

Hey... I'm Tank. I'm a 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix, about 54 pounds, and I'm trying my best to figure out all these big changes happening in my life right now.

I was owner released, and honestly, everything has felt a little uncertain lately. I might take a little time to warm up in a new place, but once I feel safe, I really do shine. I'm a sweet, gentle boy who just wants to be close to people I trust.

I've lived inside before, so I already know how to be a good house dog. I'm house trained and crate trained, and I did really well in my home--I didn't have accidents, and when my people were away, I stayed in my crate. I also got to relax and even sleep on the furniture, which I loved.

I'm good with kids and cats, and I don't mind being hugged or picked up by people I trust. I really enjoy affection once I feel comfortable. I do get a little anxious when I'm alone, and I do have separation anxiety, so I'd love a patient home that can help me feel secure and remind me I'm not being left behind.

One of my favorite things in the world? Cuddling. 💕 Once I trust you, I'm all about snuggling up close and soaking in all the love I can get.

I also do well with the dogs here, which is a great sign that I may enjoy canine companions with the right match and proper introductions.

Right now, I'm not really sure about other dogs since I haven't had enough experience to know how I feel yet.

What I really want is someone who will be patient with me, give me time to settle in, and help me build my confidence. Once I know I'm safe, I promise I'll give you all the love I have in me. ❤️

I'm heartworm negative, up to date on my vaccinations, and ready for my next chapter.

My adoption fee is $115.50 plus tax. 🐶Dogs are $115 and puppies are $110 unless otherwise noted. All cats and kittens are $75.00 unless otherwise noted. Our system automatically updates adoptable websites every two hours. Feel free to email or call us with any questions you may have. Our contact number is 270-887-4175. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30-4 and is closed daily for lunch from 12:30-1. Adoptions are done on a first come first serve basis for owner releases. Strays have a wait list.
