PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Hercules is a goofy, affectionate, gentle, loving boy looking for his forever family. He does well with other dogs and would love to live with another playful guy like himself that can also match his gentle demeanor. Hercules would do best with respectful children 7+. He has done well around the office cat they have at the shelter and has been easy to redirect when interested in a feral cat.

Here is what shelter staff and volunteers have to say about Hercules:
Hercules is 82 pounds (mostly in his head) of big baby energy. Though he may look intimidating, you're likely to find him making himself comfortable in someone's lap like the gentle giant he is. He's got one of the best underbites in the biz, and, sadly, just bid adieu to his upper K9s. With metal in his teeth, we believe he probably spent all his time in a kennel, and a couple of his chompers were so damaged we had to extract them. At around 3 years old, Herc came to the shelter as a stray, scared and growly in his new surroundings; but it didn't take long for him to start to open up to a few staff members. Now he's practically a pro, with his human friends by his side to encourage him. Unsure at first, he'll reach his paw out toward a new person as if to say "I hope I can trust you, you can trust me", which quickly turns into a paw for attention. Because Hercules LOVES love. He enjoys walks and playing in the yard, but his real joy in life is basking in the warm glow of affection. This blockheaded American Bully could spend all day just lounging with the ones he loves. Built more for neighborhood
strolls, Hercules is looking for a forever home that will help build his confidence, adore him as much as he'll adore his family, and maybe even lets him sleep in the bed.
