At just one year old, Toby is still very much a puppy at heart. He’s not one to sit on the sidelines—this happy-go-lucky guy wants to be part of whatever his people are doing. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, or just hanging out at home, Toby is right there with you. Toby’s story started off a little rough. He came to the shelter with a broken leg after being hit by a car, but after time to heal in a foster home, he’s made a great recovery and is now ready to find his forever family. His resilience shows in his joyful, affectionate nature. This lovable, curious boy is full of fun—but he’s not nonstop chaos. Toby has short bursts of playful puppy energy, followed by his favorite activity: curling up on the couch for snuggles. Toby is: • Crate and house trained (and will even put himself in the crate for naps!) • Kid-friendly • Dog-friendly (with slow, thoughtful introductions) • Affectionate and loves being close to his people • Responsive and eager to please He knows several commands like sit, “find it,” and “leave it,” and since he’s very treat-motivated, he’s a great candidate for continued training. He takes treats gently and genuinely enjoys learning. Like many young dogs, Toby can get a little jumpy when he’s excited, but he redirects easily and aims to please.
