Meet Reuben! (aka RooRoo, Ruby, or Rue — he answers to all of them!)

This sweet 5-year-old neutered male is looking for his forever home, and honestly? He's going to make someone incredibly lucky. Reuben was found as a stray after wandering up to some kind people — hungry, underweight, and in search of a new life.

Reuben is the full package when it comes to being a great companion. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and he is an absolute people lover. He hasn't been tested with kids yet, but given his gentle, social nature, we suspect he'll be just as wonderful with the little ones too!

He's housetrained, microchipped, and settling into foster life more and more each day. Crating is still a work in progress as he gets anxious at times, but he's improving every single day.

Reuben loves his food and who can blame him? Given how underweight he was when he was found, it makes complete sense that he wants to hold onto what's his. He can be a little protective of food and new toys around other pets but this is truly a tiny blip in an otherwise amazing personality, and with time and training, he's already showing so much progress!

Reuben is currently being treated for heartworms, though you'd never know it- he's full of life and joy! Treatment will be underway as soon as possible, setting him up for a long, happy, healthy life ahead.

Reuben has been through a lot, but he hasn't let any of it dim his spirit. He is ready to find his people — someone who will give him the safe, loving home he deserves and let him finally keep all the toys he wants.
