He can be quite timid at first and will need a calm, understanding home that lets him move at his own pace. Once he feels safe, you'll see his sweet personality shine through in the quiet ways, soft eyes, cautious tail wags, and a growing curiosity about the world around him. Lapis is currently working on potty training and learning the basics of home life. One thing that definitely motivates him? Food! This boy loves to eat and will happily work for a piece of chicken, which makes training a great opportunity to build his confidence and trust. He would likely do best as the only dog where he can feel secure, though he would okay with another calm dog given slow, thoughtful introductions. He does well around cats and mostly just ignores them. Lapis is looking for a patient, kind-hearted adopter who understands that the best transformations take time.
