Almost 13 years old, Howard should be spending his days stretched out on a soft bed, soaking up love, belly rubs, and quiet moments with a family of his own. Not watching people walk past his kennel day after day.

Howard has a big heart to match his big size at about 120 lbs. He is house trained, good on a leash, good with kids, and all this sweet senior boy truly wants is to be someone's baby. A couch to nap on. A person to follow around. A home where he feels safe and loved.

But shelter life is especially hard on older dogs. Every day that passes is another day Howard waits and wonders why no one has come for him.

Howard does need to be the only king of the castle; no cats, chickens, or small animals, and he is selective with other dogs. But for the right family, Howard will give endless loyalty, companionship, and love.

Howard is 12-1/2 years old and weighs 117 pounds.

All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.
