DESCRIPTION
Meet Poppy!
This active, fun-sized girl is ready to find a family that can keep up with her zest for life. Poppy came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about her past—but she’s made it very clear what she’s looking for in her future.
Poppy thrives on movement and adventure. Whether it’s long daily walks, weekend hikes, or a running buddy, she’s all in. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be right by your side, exploring the world and burning off that happy energy.
She’s also a total social butterfly when it comes to other dogs - Poppy is SUPER dog-friendly and would love a young, playful canine sibling to romp around with, if possible. A built-in best friend? Yes, please.
True to her cattle dog mixed roots, Poppy can show some herding instincts, including nipping, so she’d do best with older, dog-savvy kids who can understand and respect her behavior. With the right structure, outlets, and continued guidance, she’s going to absolutely thrive.
If you're interested in meeting Poppy, she is located at the Pennsylvania SPCA Danville Center on Bloom Rd. We are open daily from 12:00-6:00pm and no appointment is needed. Please bring everyone who lives in your home and any current dogs with proof of up to date vaccinations. If you have any questions about her, feel free to call the shelter at 570-275-0340 or email danville@pspca.org.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
