Meet Fredy, a gentle soul with a heart full of love and a calm, easygoing nature. Surrendered in February 2026 due to unfortunate circumstances, Fredy has handled the transition with quiet resilience and is now looking for a soft place to land.

Fredy is the definition of a companion dog. He loves his people deeply, leaning in for cuddles, nuzzling for affection, and gets so excited to go on walks that he'll literally jump for joy. He’s polite on leash and enjoys short strolls (about 5–15 minutes), along with a bit of playtime—especially if there’s a ball or chew toy involved. At home, he’s calm and trustworthy, happily free-roaming without causing trouble.

He’s friendly and relaxed when meeting new adults, though he may initially bark when guests enter the home. With a little time and familiarity, he warms up nicely. On walks, he’s easygoing overall but can be vocal around larger dogs and more interested in smaller ones. Fredy does well with dogs he knows but can be selective with new canine friends, so slow, supervised introductions are important.

Fredy has not been directly tested with children, but he has shown calm curiosity from a distance and may be best suited to a home with older, respectful kids or an adult-only environment.

Fredy may be a “hidden senior”—while records list him as 7, his condition suggests he could be a bit older. He has a lower energy level and is best suited to a low-impact lifestyle with shorter walks and cozy rest spots.

Fredy has a slight outward turn in his left front paw (called a valgus deformity), which gives his leg a unique look. This is typically caused by how the bone developed as he grew, and in Fredy’s case, it doesn’t cause him any discomfort or require any treatment — it’s simply part of what makes him, him!

He also has a small, soft fatty lump on his lower chest (lipoma), along with a few small benign skin growths on his head, nose, and left wrist. These are non-cancerous and very common, especially as dogs get older, and they don’t impact his day-to-day life.
He also has some arthritis in his back legs, which further supports keeping his exercise low-impact and manageable.

Fredy is still working on consistent house training and may have occasional marking, especially overnight or when left alone, where a belly band has been helpful. Crate training isn’t recommended for him at this stage, as it can increase stress. He can be left alone for several hours and settles well.

Fredy would thrive in a home with few stairs, san apartment or condo, or in a place with a fenced yard that gives him room for his occasional bout of zoomies. A quiet environment where he can stay close to his people will help him truly settle and feel secure.

If you're ready for a fine furry companion, then Fredy is ready to fill your home with love in his golden years.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
