Knuckles - Mixed Breed Dog Available for Adoption in Madison, Wisconsin

At around 40 pounds, Knuckles is significantly underweight, the stress of shelter life took a heavy toll on him. He had stopped eating and was rapidly running out of time. When Underdog visited the shelter, overcrowding, limited resources, and Knuckles declining condition meant he was at serious risk of losing his chance at a new home. With only days to spare, he was selected for rescue and given a second chance at life.
Knuckles is incredibly sweet. He absolutely loves people and has a calm, gentle nature that makes it hard not to fall in love with him. He enjoys human companionship and seems happiest when he's near his people.
Knuckles has done well with other dogs and appears to enjoy canine company. He is currently a bit shut down as he adjusts to life outside the shelter, but we're already seeing glimpses of the wonderful dog hiding beneath the stress. With patience, kindness, and a predictable routine, we believe his true personality will continue to blossom.
What Knuckles needs most is someone willing to see beyond the shelter stress and recognize the loving soul underneath. He doesn't need perfection just patience, understanding, good meals, and a family willing to help him regain both his weight and his confidence.

Dogs from Underdog Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:
Spay/Neuter
Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations (as age appropriate-puppy adopters may need to cover some vaccine boosters)
Heartworm Test (for dogs over 9mo)
Microchip
Deworming
Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian

Our adult dog adoption fee is $375. Our puppy (under 5 mo) is $450. Our senior dog (over 8 yrs) is $275. Our adoption fee for bonded adult dogs is $550.
