DESCRIPTION

Debbie is a 9-year-old Chihuahua/Min Pin mix with a big personality packed into a tiny body. She’s looking for a very specific kind of home—one that understands that she thrives with structure, boundaries, and clear expectations. Debbie isn’t interested in being treated like a "baby" dog; she does best with an experienced owner who will treat her like a dog and give her the consistency and guidance she needs to feel secure.

Debbie prefers a quiet, adult-only home with minimal visitors. She can become overwhelmed when her space feels unpredictable, and she has shown that she may react defensively in certain situations—particularly around furniture. Because of this, Debbie should not be allowed on couches or beds and instead should have her own designated safe space, such as a crate or dog bed, where she can relax without feeling the need to guard it.

In a previous foster-to-adopt home, Debbie became uncomfortable when someone stood up from the couch and moved away, leading to a quick nip. While no injury occurred, it gave us important insight into what Debbie needs to be successful: clear boundaries, routine, and an environment where her triggers are managed thoughtfully.

Debbie may be able to live with a calm, low-key dog who respects her space, but she would also be perfectly happy as the only pet. She’s not for a first-time dog owner—but in the right, experienced home, Debbie has the potential to be a loyal and devoted companion who just needs someone to understand her quirks and advocate for her needs.

If you’re someone who appreciates a dog with personality and are committed to providing structure, patience, and consistency, Debbie could be your girl.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
