DESCRIPTION
Meet Mama Woods!
Mama Woods was found in the woods with another dog and has been gentle from the very beginning. At 6 years old and 56 lbs, Mama Woods has a calm, low-energy nature that makes her such an easy companion.
She's the kind of dog who is happy to quietly stay by your side, sit next to you on a bench, and soak up slow pets while you scratch her back. Once she gets comfortable, she perks up, leans in for affection, and will even slowly climb up for hugs.
Mama Woods is treat motivated and takes them incredibly gently. She already knows several cues including sit, down, shake, and even her own little "two paws up" trick. She also seems to listen very well and has that steady, attentive personality people love.
She appears likely house trained, is easy to handle, and overall just has a soft, easygoing presence. Since she was found with another dog, she may also enjoy having a canine companion in the home.
As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.
To meet/adopt, visit us in Greensboro, NC from 12-4pm any day except Tuesdays; no appointment needed.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
