DESCRIPTION
Meet Chief - a 6-year-old beagle mix with a love for the great outdoors and a current weight of 42 pounds. Yes, the boy is a little extra fluffy at the moment, but don't worry...Chief has officially entered his wellness era. He's currently working on a diet and exercise routine and would love a family willing to cheer him on during his fitness journey.
Chief has spent most of his life outdoors and is happiest when he's outside sniffing around, exploring, or simply lounging in the fresh air. He's very friendly with people, enjoys attention, and doesn't mind a good spa day either. Baths? Brushing? Pampering? Chief says yes, please.
Like many good beagle mixes, Chief likes to announce when strangers arrive. He can be a bit barky at first, but once he realizes you're a friend and not an intruder trying to steal his snacks, he settles right down. He's also gentle on leash and easy to walk, making him a great companion for relaxed strolls and backyard adventures.
Chief would prefer to be the only dog in the home, though he has lived successfully with another dog in the past. Because he can be selective about his canine companions, a meet and greet is required if there's another dog in the household.
Chief is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find a home where he can enjoy the simple things in life: sunshine, snacks in moderation, and people who love a classic hound dog personality. Stop by the Williamson County Animal Center to meet him!
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
