Meet Raya!
This sweet 3 year old mixed breed gal might just get the award for favorites here at the shelter! Raya is a true loving companion, a very gentle gal. She just enjoys being by your side and snuggling. Raya lived with another dog and did very well. She adores other dogs! Raya loves the company of the junior volunteers here at FAPL! You will often find her cuddling with a volunteer- so if you do not see her in her kennel- please ask, as she might be outside snuggling!

Raya's previous owners shared that they believed she had hip dysplasia, and radiographs performed by our veterinary team confirmed the diagnosis. At just 3 years old, however, Raya doesn't let it slow her down one bit!

This happy-go-lucky girl is full of love, enjoys life to the fullest, and absolutely adores other dogs. While her hip dysplasia is something potential adopters should be aware of and prepared to manage as she ages, Raya is currently thriving and remains as sweet, social, and affectionate as can be.

We're simply looking for a family that understands her condition and is ready to help keep her comfortable and happy for years to come.

No appointment is necessary to adopt. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis, by visiting the shelter. Applications are not accepted in advance, but will be filled out upon adoption.

If you have another dog and/or children in your family and are interested in adopting a FAPL dog, please bring them with you for a meet and greet. Please bring a copy of lease agreement if you rent home/apartment.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are dewormed, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Dogs 7 months and older are heartworm tested.

Upon visiting FAPL, if you dont see a particular dog you are looking for that is on the website, please ask at the front desk.
