Hello, future friends and family! My name is Skittles and I am just the cutest little girl (well so I am told!). I didn't have the best start to life and am learning what it means to feel safe and loved. I have been with my foster family for a short while and have learned their routine really quick! My foster mom says that I am a very smart girl. I caught on to crate training and potty training very quick and as long as I am on a schedule to go outside have not had any accidents in a little over a week now!
Currently, I am rocking a sweet Mullet that goes down the length of my back. It's really noticeable when I am wearing jammies then my foster mom calls me Joe Dirt. I won't always have the mullet though! I am slowly growing all my fur back. I had this nasty thing called mange but that is all cured and now I just have to be patient to grow all my fur in.
I have two other dogs in the house with me and I LOVE them both. I have been learning how to wrestle and play in the backyard with them. My foster mom says that people will want to know if I am good with cats since she doesn't have any. I think that I could become friends with cats with the proper introductions. My foster mom has taught me about the small creatures in the backyard called chickens and now I get to wander the yard while they are out and I ignore them for the most part. Every now and then I try to get one to play with me but they have no interest in that. My foster mom laughs because she says I look so unsure while I am running in circles with them like I don't know why I am doing it but don't let that fool you it is a BLAST!
Even though I am still a puppy once I get a chance to run around and have fun I love to curl up on the chair and snooze. We have this huge toy box here filled with all the toys a pup could ask for! I like to see how many bones and toys I can take out before my foster mom cleans them up. So far the record is 17! She says that I have done really well sticking to only chewing on the things that are mine but the few times she has redirected me I listen very well. I have picked up the word no super quick.
As much as I love my foster mom I am still a little nervous with people and do not find being picked up enjoyable yet. I would do best in a home with no small kids. Older respectful ones are just fine. I take a little bit of time to warm up to people but if you give me butt scratches and treats we will become fast friends.
So if you are looking to add a sweet quirky girl to your family I might just be her! Fill out an application and let's meet!

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
