Meet Maggie
Maggie has retired from breeding and is ready to find her forever home. She gets along with all dogs and cats and all people, including children. While Maggie loves pets and walks, what she really wants is to be with her fur friends. She will do best in a home with another resident dog. Maggie hasn’t shown a lot of interest in playing (toys or bones) yet, but we think with the right playmate she might be more playful. She has shown that she can chill in her crate for a full workday while her people have leave to go to work. She walks beautifully on leash and only pulls when there’s a super good sniff. She has also learned how to do full flights of steps. Maggie also likes to go with her people and jumps in and out of the car on her own. She knows some commands such as stay and no, and she’s getting better at come and sit. She does not jump up on people, so we haven’t had to use off/down much. But she is very curious and, at first, jumped up on counters w/ paws. That quickly stopped. However, sometimes her curiosity gets the best of her. Her people will want to be careful of interesting items on the countertops to keep Maggie safe.
Maggie is just the sweetest thing and will make nearly any family very happy. She is hoping for a family that will understand where she came from and be patient with her. She is still learning to navigate life in a home with people that love her.
Maggie’s favorite thing is her fur friends, with her people coming in a close second. While she is a little shy meeting new people, she never hesitates to meet new fur friends.
Due to recently coming into heat, and the vet recommendation that she wait 2-3 months to be spayed, Maggie will be adopted with a sterilization contract. These details can be found on the Brookline website. You can also view Maggie's blog here: https://brooklinelabrescue.org/blog/maggie-19-yellow-labrador-retriever-female-8-years-old-id-3650/
Could you be that patient family willing to give Maggie the fantastic life she deserves?
