On the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta, someone left behind a cardboard box on the street… inside were tiny puppies, only about 2 months old. Discarded like something unwanted, like they didn’t matter. Kind neighbors stepped in and reached out for help. That was when Nayeli stepped in, because some people simply cannot look away. She brought the puppies to safety, giving them a chance they never had before. They arrived weak, underweight, dirty, and covered in ticks and fleas… but they were fighters. After a visit to the vet and tests that thankfully came back negative for life-threatening diseases, they started treatment, got the care they desperately needed, and began their journey toward a new life.

Yulisa is about 3.5 years old, weighs around 19.5 kilos, and is a beautiful Lab mix.

Yulisa is a sweet and resilient girl who truly loves being around people: adults, teenagers, and children alike. She has a gentle, social nature and gets along very well with other dogs, both medium and large. At the shelter, she enjoys playing with her furry friends and is comfortable being part of a group. When meeting new people, she may be a little shy at first, but with a bit of time and reassurance, she warms up nicely.
She absolutely loves car rides, and she also enjoys going on walks, where she does well on a leash. While on walks, she occasionally barks at other dogs, just to let them know she is there, but it’s simply part of her communication style as she continues to learn. Yulisa is past the puppy stage, which means no chewing troubles. She can be possessive over her food so feeding her separate will be best however, she is not possessive of toys or sleeping space. She is an easygoing, gentle companion with a calm presence. With her low energy level, she would do best in a home that can offer her patience, understanding, and a little time to feel completely safe. Once she settles in, her loving personality truly shines. All she needs now is a family who will never abandon her again.
