He is playful, smart, affectionate and incredibly eager to bond. He may or may not be a pure lab but you would never know because the lab personality shines through from the moment you meet him. Silverman loves nothing more than being outdoors. Give him a tennis ball and he is in heaven. He even brings it back pretty well which is always a win in the lab world. He knows the sit command and picks up new things quickly! We have tested him with a female dog and he did wonderfully. He did not immediately jump into play but was calm, respectful and content to coexist. With the right dog, we can easily see Silverman developing a real friendship. This sweet boy genuinely enjoys being around people and any attention is good attention in his eyes. Now, full honesty. Silverman has a habit of trying to bolt out of gates when they open. He is not doing it out of fear or stubbornness but simply because he is young, excited and curious. His ideal family will be aware of this and committed to helping him learn. A secure fence is important if he will spend time in a yard and teaching him the wait command will make a world of difference. He is far too smart not to catch on quickly.
