Foster needed for female choc/silver Lab "Elsa"
Background.
Meet Elsa — a 4-ish yr old female silver Labrador at the Solano Animal Services in Fairfield. She is asking “do you want to build a snowman?”… but only emotionally. She’s kinda in her “I don’t know if I can” chapter… quietly hoping for a home that feels like “for the first time in forever.”

What our evaluator says.
Elsa is not actually frozen solid—this is more of a “first 10 minutes of Frozen when everything is a little overwhelming and she’s politely unsure about palace life” situation….or in this case, a noisy shelter. Underneath it all, you can absolutely see the Elsa transformation loading in. The soft Labrador warmth is there, just behind the door she’s cautiously keeping shut like, “I’ll open it later, after I’ve verified everything is safe and no one is going to burst into an unexpected musical number.” Timid and avoided human contact at first. Did not walk willingly on leash; just kind of froze in position. A little unsure on leash; but not a puller. Willing took treat with soft mouth, but does not know how to "sit" for treat. A bit anxious with being touched at first, but warmed up to accepting touching and affection. Not so interested in toys or balls.
What her Rescue Rep says.
We named her Elsa because she gives strong “just let it go… but give me a second” energy. Not the full snow queen—more like the early movie version who hasn’t quite realized yet that love is the thing that thaws everything. Elsa would thrive in a calm, patient home where the world feels less like a sudden royal reveal and more like a cozy kingdom she can explore at her own pace.
Kids who understand that trust is a slow-burn duet (not a solo performance) would be perfect co-stars. And one day, when she’s settled and safe, she’s going to skip straight past “conceal, don’t feel” and land firmly in: “The cold never bothered me anyway… because I finally found my people.” Looking for a quiet, calm foster home to decompress and relax.
Presence of another adult dog would be fine. No idea how she does with cats. Probably weighs ~55 pounds.
Medical.
Appears healthy. Ears and teeth look good. A bit underweight. Awaiting medical info from shelter. Do not know if she is spayed.
Elsa (A310430) is currently located at: Solano Animal Services in Fairfield.
