Labrador Retriever Dogs Available for Adoption in Alexander, Arkansas

4/20/26 Matthew is an exceptionally good boy. We can't believe someone would dump a boy as good as him, but here we are. Matt was dumped and found living in an abandoned church. The worst part is that around the corner from the church is known dog fighting ring. With Matt's sweet, friendly disposition, it was only a matter of time before he was "recruited" to train their fighting dogs with. We couldn't allow that to happen. Thankfully, one of our sweetest foster mama's opened her home to him and has kept him safe while we got him vetted. Unfortunately, Matt tested positive for heartworms, but he will be treated before going to a new home. Matthew will start the Arkansas Paws in Prison Program on 4/20 where he will be trained for all basic obedience and some tricks as well! He already knows some basics and is extremely smart, so we know he will excel with the training! Matthew has a special place in all of our hearts. He has a special quality about him, he is so gentle and kind in spirit. He gets along very well with other dogs and adores all people. He would be an amazing addition to a family with young children, due to his gentle nature. Matthew will be at Paws in Prison for 8 weeks and we would love to have a home ready for him once he graduates and finishes his heartworm treatment.

He is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays.
