ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Birdie had 10 puppies in our care and is now ready to find her forever home. She is heartworm positive (not contagious) and we will provide the treatment.

Notes from the foster: Meet Birdie: The Sweetest Soul, Searching for a Soft Landing. Birdie is a 59-pound beauty with the most gentle, soulful eyes you've ever seen. For the last several months, she has been the world's most devoted mama, tirelessly raising ten giant puppies. Now that her "graduates" are ready for their own adventures, it's finally Birdie's turn to be the baby. Truly a "best mama" through and through, Birdie is patient, nurturing, and incredibly kind to her little ones. She enjoys the company of other dogs and loves people of all ages-kids included! This sweet girl is currently in the beginning phase of her heartworm treatment journey. Because the treatment requires her to keep her heart rate low, she needs a calm environment without high-intensity exercise or "zoomies" for a little while longer.
Birdie has given everything she had to her puppies; now she just wants a cozy bed, a few head scratches, and a family to call her own. If you have a quiet corner and a lot of love to give, Birdie is waiting to fill your heart. (Homeward Trails will be covering all expenses for Birdie's heartworm treatment)
