URGENT FOSTER NEED FOR LADY BIRD
Ladybird fooled all of us because even when she was sick, she was still trying to be a good mama.
This sweet hound mix mama recently gave birth to 12 puppies.
At first, we thought she was just exhausted. Just a weak, worn-out mama who had given everything she had to her babies.
We didnt know she was fighting something so serious inside her body.
When Ladybird went to the vet, we found out the truth: she had a severe, life-threatening uterine infection and needed emergency surgery. What we thought was weakness from motherhood was actually her body quietly fighting something much bigger.
And still, she kept going.
Still, she cared for her puppies.
Still, she trusted us.
Ladybird is back from the vet now, and thankfully, she is recovering great. But after everything she has survived, she should not have to recover in a shelter kennel.
She needs a calm, loving foster home where she can finally rest. A soft bed. A quiet room. A person who will let her heal and remind her that she matters too.
Ladybird is also heartworm positive and will need follow-up care, but her medical care will be coordinated through the shelter/rescue.
This girl gave everything she had to her babies, even while her own body was failing her.
Now it is her turn to be cared for.
Please, can anyone foster Ladybird while she recovers?
Even temporary foster care would mean everything.
If you cannot foster, please share her story. Somewhere out there is the person who can give Ladybird the safe, gentle place she has earned.
