Little Romeo was part of a group of small dogs that were found running alone in a field, they were clearly dumped, not uncommon in this rural part of Mississippi. Fortunately, Wags of Monroe County stepped in to help, gathering up all the little ones and bringing them back to the rescue where they got the vet care, love and attention that they deserve deserved.
Now the gang is ready for loving homes of their own! Romeo appears to be a Havanese, he is sweet and funny and active, and would love a home where someone is around a lot to give him a lap to snuggle on. Romeo loves to play with other dogs and to snuggle up with the other small pups in a giant puppy pile to nap!
A little about Wags and adoption fees: The woman who runs Wags takes care of almost 200 dogs completely on her own, she finds stray dogs constantly and find it impossible to turn them away.
Adoption fees are the only source of funding for Wags and help pay for the vaccines, microchip spay/neuter and the transport from Mississippi for the lucky dogs who get posted for adoption and find loving homes. What little is left after those expenses helps pay for food and vet care for all the other dogs and of course, the multitude of other expenses that come from running a rescue.
Almost all of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. Sometimes were able to bring up dogs into a foster home in the northeast, we always need foster homes!
