DESCRIPTION

Introducing Caleb, here!

Caleb is an absolute gem of a puppy, and he has A LOT to brag about! If you want a puppy who comes with most of the hard work done, he is your guy! At just under 4 months he is already fully potty trained! He has had no accidents in the foster house, whines at the door when he wants to go outside to go potty, and goes to the bathroom within minutes of being outside.

He is also kennel trained, and sleeps through the night in his kennel (although he does whine for just a few minutes as he settles down). He's an early riser, and very happily leaves his kennel so far at about 5 AM. He even knows a command already: sit. Caleb also appears to be dog friendly, playing with the resident dog. He still has some minor puppy manners to work on when playing with dogs, but the resident dog has corrected some of those, and Caleb listened and adjusted, so he's already showing growth and learning. His foster brother dog is about 30 lbs bigger than him, and Caleb kept up and is an energetic wrestler; he might be a bit too much for a new small dog as he likes to jump on, over, and into the dog while playing (the resident husky loved it, but a small dog might not). He gets excited when he sees other dogs, and will give a couple barks, but with proper introduction he will likely thrive with a puppy friend in the family.

He plays well with provided toys, and has not shown an interest in chewing on things he shouldn't. His former foster said that he loves kids, and they even took him to the playground to play with some. He is very people friendly and said "Hi" to many people when visiting a pickleball court. When playing, he has most of his puppy mouthing manners down (although he needs occasional reminders). He ambles on walks, and will benefit from leash training (but he hasn't pulled, he just wants to wander about!).

Caleb is about 24 lbs, and his build indicates he's going to be a big boy; since he's believed to be a Great Pyrenees-mix, that makes sense! He runs about with all the cuteness of a puppy whose legs are a bit too big for him!

His favorites are:
- Playing fetch (this boy is fast!)
- Wrestling and chasing his foster brother dog
- Cuddling with humans on a comfy couch
- Being around people, and seems very excited to see and play with kids
- Napping
- Chewing on toys

Things he's a little unsure about (but with exposure and training will be just fine):
- Cars are a little scary right now, but he likes to try and see out the window if he's seated on a nice human's lap
- Steps make him a little hesitant (but he'll overcome that fear with some coaxing and treats)

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
