Hi there… I’m Bertha — but my friends call me Big Bertha (don’t worry, I’m working on the “big” part). Some say my other name, Sunshine, fits me even better… because I’m basically a warm, fluffy ray of love wherever I go.

I’m a 9-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who made my way all the way from Texas, and I brought my big heart with me. I love other dogs — they make me so happy — so I’d be thrilled to have a furry sibling. I also really love my people and don’t like being alone too much, so a home where someone is around often would be perfect for me.

I’m more of a relaxed, easygoing girl these days. I enjoy my downtime, a cozy place to rest, and nice short walks where I can take in the world at my own pace. My absolute favorite thing in the whole world is belly rubs — I truly believe there’s no such thing as too many. And if you ever forget, I’ll gently remind you with my signature “Pyr paw” (it’s very effective, if I do say so myself).

I can do well with respectful, dog-savvy kids who understand that a gentle girl like me appreciates kindness and calm energy. I’ve got the sweetest soul and just want to be near my people, soaking up love and giving it right back.

I’ll be honest… I could stand to lose a few pounds (hey, who can resist snacks?!), but with some light exercise and lots of encouragement, I’ll be feeling my best in no time.
