My name is Gibson and I am a 1-year-old Golden Retriever who weighs about 60 lbs.
I'm a stunning, deep red boy with so much potential - I just need the right person to help me shine!

I came to the rescue as a local owner surrender due to financial reasons. I've lived with children before, but I'm still very much a big, unpolished puppy, and my next home will need to be prepared for that. I know "sit" and "down," but I'll need continued training to build on those basics.

One of the biggest things to know about me is that I am VERY mouthy. I don't mean any harm, but I tend to grab whatever is closest - hands, leash, clothing - anything I can get in my mouth. Because of my size and enthusiasm, this can easily become overwhelming without proper guidance and training. I'll also need supervision to make sure I'm not picking up and swallowing things I shouldn't.

For these reasons, I would do best in a home that is committed to training, setting clear boundaries, and helping me learn appropriate ways to interact with people. A home without young children, or with very dog-savvy older kids and strong management, would be the best fit for me right now.

The good news? I am smart, eager, and at the perfect age to learn. With structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I have all the potential to grow into an incredible companion.
