RIVER!
Recently, we were asked to help a young dog out of Nicholas County. A rescue partner stepped in and removed him from a neglectful situation, and he has now safely come into our care. He was missing much of the fur on his back, tail and ears and was emaciated and weak.
Dogs like him need a safe, quiet place to spend that quarantine time- a place where they can decompress, begin to heal, and learn what safety feels like. Now, after several months, his quarantine is over! He is looking and feeling better and he is ready for a new home. His fur has been regrowing and he looks like a new dog. River has regained his puppy energy and would be a great family dog for an active person or family who like to hike, enjoy the outdoors, or play in the yard. River has been going to FairyTails' weekly K9 training classes and is doing very well on a leash.
Just like Wolfie, who needed months to recover and learn that humans could offer food, comfort, safety, and ultimately love, this dog now has that same chance.
This is why our mission matters so deeply. These dogs need more than rescue- they need time, space, care, and compassion.
