5/26/26: Meet Tito - Loyal, Intelligent, and Looking for the Right Person

Tito is an estimated 4-5-year-old neutered male German Shepherd with a medium build, striking eyes, and a resilient spirit. After spending years being bounced around following his rescue from a Texas kill shelter, Tito is finally ready to find stability, patience, and a home of his own.

Tito is a smart, affectionate dog with a moderate energy level and a strong love for play. He has an excellent ball drive and will happily chase a ball until he tires himself out. He's well socialized with other dogs and has shown no dominant or aggressive behavior with his peers. However, due to his prey drive for small animals, caution should be used around cats and small pets.

He has excellent obedience both on and off leash indoors, strong recall, perfect house manners, and is comfortable in a crate. Tito has shown no destructive behaviors and is equally happy going for walks or relaxing beside his person on the couch.

While Tito bonds deeply and quickly with his people, he does show signs of a difficult past and can be wary of certain strangers, particularly some men. He is also extremely sensitive about his feet and lower back area, likely due to previous trauma, so nail trims should be handled carefully by professionals.

Tito will thrive with an experienced, patient owner who understands that trust takes time. Because he can become overly excited during play, he would do best in a home without small children. A fenced yard and continued structure will help him feel safe and successful.

4/27/26: See ya later, everyone! I'm being shipped off to the rescue's monthly Prison Program today! While I'm there I'll get some basic training, crate training, and some socialization. 1/11/26: Meet Tito - Smart, Athletic, and Affectionate

Tito is a high-energy, intelligent dog who thrives with structure and an engaged handler. He loves playing ball with people and wrestling with other high-energy dogs, and he does well on daily walks when guided by a confident, consistent leader. Tito will not do well in a passive home - he needs clear boundaries, routine, and someone who enjoys working with a smart dog.

He learns quickly and is very affectionate. Food is absolutely his love language, making training both effective and fun. Tito has solid basic obedience and some advanced commands, and he performs best with a prong collar. He is crate trained, muzzle trained, and respects his crate when it is properly secured (he will attempt to escape if it's not). Inside the crate, he settles well and enjoys his bed. Benebones are a favorite.

Tito is well-mannered with other dogs, children, and during grooming. With cats, he tends to bark and chase, so a cat-free home is recommended unless the adopter is committed to continued training and management.

Tito would be a great match for an active, experienced home looking for a smart, affectionate companion who enjoys both playtime and purposeful structure.

9/22/25: Tito!

This sweet boy is gearing up for his third birthday on 9/20 and the best gift for him would be an energetic young family that likes to go on walks or runs and is dedicated to helping him feel safe and secure in a highly structured home. He likes to play hard with friends and foster siblings like the active young boy he is. Although he has not bothered the feral cats at his foster home it would take an experienced handler to help him live peacefully with a cat in the home.
